Exigen Services, one of the largest application outsourcing firms in Central and Eastern Europe, and Polarion Software, a vendor for Application Lifecycle Management Solutions, announced today that they are launching a free quarterly seminar series about Agile software development best practices, beginning on March 9th in Stuttgart at the Millennium Hotel in the SI-Centrum. During the half-day session on “Agile Development and the Application Lifecycle Management Process,” the two companies will provide an overview of agile methods, focusing on their importance for offshore and near shore development and impact on Application Lifecycle Management (ALM).
This “Technology Tour” seminar is aimed at corporate IT representatives seeking information on ways to address and resolve issues such as unrealistic deadlines and budgets that often arise in projects that use traditional heavyweight, plan-driven software development approaches. By adhering to such principles as test-driven development, continuous integration and delivery of working software early and often, an Agile approach can ensure visibility of progress across development and management teams, resulting in more realistic and accurate planning.
Executives from Exigen Services and Polarion will share insights and best practices based on their experience in the software development market over the last decade.
In his presentation about “Agile Methods in Offshore and Nearshore Projects,” Alex Adamopoulos, General Manager Americas for Exigen Services, will discuss the benefits of using Agile methods such as Extreme Programming (XP) and SCRUM in offshore and near shore development projects.
“We gladly accepted Polarion’s invitation to participate in this seminar series since more and more companies want to learn exactly how Agile can promote greater alignment of sourcing and business goals and, in turn, result in greater trust between clients and supplier,” said Adamopoulos. “By walking through some examples of successful, complex development projects that our company has completed for Global 2000 clients across Europe and North America, I aim to demonstrate some of the clear business benefits of the Agile approach—from improving time to market to driving overall business innovation.”
Robert Neher, Vice President Sales at Polarion Software, will provide a hands-on, live demo and educational track entitled, “Integrated Project and Application Lifecycle Management to Support Agile Methods and Offshore Development”.
“Polarion decided to organize this Technology Tour series in order to respond to client demand for practical information on improving the whole ALM process and the tools which support ALM,” said Neher. “By teaming up with Exigen Services, a company with a strong reputation in Agile development, we hope to stimulate wider interest in the buyer community on ways we can support them together with all aspects of their software development needs using Agile.”
