Finnegan Health Services has hired Chris Wilson to be its chief marketing officer. Wilson, a communications professional with 15 years’ experience in media and public relations, will help the Little Rock-based medical supply company promote itself to customers and healthcare professionals statewide. Additionally, he will assist Finnegan’s affiliated company, Finnegan Medical Supply, with its start-up eCommerce venture (Finneganmedicalsupply.com).
“We’re thrilled to have Chris come aboard,” said Terrie Davis, Finnegan’s chief operating officer. “The healthcare industry is constantly changing, so it’s imperative that our business evolve as well. Chris’s expertise will allow us to analyze the needs of our customers in a way that we haven’t done before. The importance of that cannot be understated, because, ultimately, that means better care and better lives for people.”
Most recently, Wilson worked as director of public relations for Arkansas Farm Bureau, an agricultural advocacy nonprofit and the largest membership organization in Arkansas. In his role there, he provided strategic vision and direction for the group’s communications efforts. Prior to that, he worked as design editor for the Northwest Arkansas Times, a daily newspaper in Fayetteville, Ark. He is a graduate of the University of Arkansas, where he studied news-editorial journalism.
“I’m looking forward to the change in scenery, the shift in focus,” Wilson said. “The work this group is doing on the web, with its eCommerce site, is truly exciting. It has the potential to be huge. Also, the business they’re doing in Arkansas, that’s very appealing to me. It means a lot that, in the medical supply industry, I’ll be given a chance to help people.”
Finnegan (finneganhealth.com | Finneganmedicalsupply.com) has a long history in the state of Arkansas. Beginning as a Little Rock pharmacy in the 1950s, it was purchased by pharmacists Vicki and Karrol Fowlkes in 1984. Seven years later, their business grew to include medical supplies, which, presently, is the company’s sole focus. Finnegan specializes in bariatric supplies, catheter supplies, adult incontinence products and children’s diapers, for which they bill Arkansas Medicaid, Medicare and private insurance companies. In 2012, the Fowlkes family formed an affiliate company to launch an eCommerce website. The site sells wholesale and discount medical supplies nationwide.
