This recognition marks the seventh Postal Service Supplier Performance award for WBI.
The Postal Service recognized 14 companies in various categories for their dedication to cost reduction, service, innovation and sustainable solutions. Four companies were presented with the 2013 Supplier Performance Award, which is reserved for Key Suppliers based on business impact, market complexity and other business considerations including active involvement in the Postal Supplier Council.
In a press release announcing the winners the Postal Service stated,“Wheeler Bros. provides proven processes and procedures to ensure customer satisfaction. With the average age of Postal Service vehicles exceeding 20 years, Wheeler Bros. fights a daily battle against obsolete parts. It has responded with outstanding performance to provide the parts necessary to keep the fleet running.”
WBI manages and supplies repair parts for all makes and models of more than 211,000 Postal Service vehicles and equipment. It catalogs almost 22,000 items for Postal Service vehicles, including heavy trucks and trailers in a web-based inventory program. WBI focuses on engineering solutions to improve product life-cycles and enhance the performance of key component parts that are needed to extend the life of the vehicle fleet and promote long term sustainment.
