Venod Sharma, Former Union Minister has urged the people to fight against the bias in the development of Jind. He asked the people of Jind that how long they can tolerate the lopsided development of Haryana. While addressing a rally in Jind on 30th May, Venod Sharma pointed out, how Jind has fallen behind in growth and development. He said that various development plans announced by the Haryana government have not seen the light of the day. Local city councilors have been demanding release of the announced CM’s financial aid but, the city has not received any financial aid from the CM added Mr. Sharma
Mr. Sharma told the gathering that all the development activities in Jind have come to a halt. It seems that the government of the day is busy in developing only a few select districts of Haryana, leaving the rest of state in the lurch. He further added that the region is facing a huge scarcity of drinking water and electricity but there is no urgency with the government to tackle the problem. With rising temperature, the problem is becoming more acute but unfortunately, there is no sensitivity in the government, with regard to the problems of Jind, said Mr. Sharma
Need for uniform development in Haryana: Venod Sharma has raised questions over the lopsided development work in Haryana. Haryana is a perfect example of lop sided development where districts like Gurgaon are competing with the best cities of the country while districts Jind, Mewat are devoid of basic amenities.
Haryana today has some districts which are surging ahead in the development work in Haryana while major portions of the state are still underdeveloped.
Due to the lack of impetus from the government, the areas like Mahendragarh, Mewat and several other districts including Jind are lacking in development.
Government is developing only those districts from where it can drive political mileage. Government is not paying any attention to uniform development.
Districts like Jind which are very close to the National Capital region are still lacking in the basic amenities. Jind for long has been demanding it’s inclusion in NCR. The demand though has been met by the Central government in 2014, but the area still lacks any sign of development.
