ARX, the global leader in digital signature solutions, is proud to announce that CoSign by ARX is the first remote signing solution to fully comply with the European Union’s new ‘Electronic Identification and Trust Services for Electronic Transactions in the Internal Market’ (eIDAS) regulation, which is set to be approved by the EU Council in July 2014.
The CoSign digital signature solution meets all the management, communications and security requirements outlined in the new regulation for remote signature service providers in general and for qualified signature creation devices in particular. As such, CoSign is uniquely positioned to enable organizations that previously used smartcards to easily transition to a highly secure, centrally managed signing device, thus enabling signers across the EU to apply digital signatures while using the latest technologies.
In defining the requirements and obligations for Trust Services Providers (TSPs) and trust-related services, eIDAS endorses remote signing on the condition that ‘sole control’ is maintained by the signatory. In addition, the CEN-TS-419241 technical specification, which was approved by all member states, stipulates that only products with level 2 security, such as CoSign, can be used to create qualified signatures. CoSign is currently in the final stages of the Common Criteria EAL4+ certification.
“ARX is proud to be the first company to provide a server-side digital signing solution that fully complies with the new European eIDAS regulation. We look forward to opening new markets for digital signatures within the European Union based on these developments,” said Gadi Aharoni, CEO at ARX.
