Darnell Lamont Walker and Jade Andwele present We Been Here, a multimedia art exhibition, at Vivid Solutions Gallery at the Anacostia Arts Center located at 1231 Good Hope Road Southeast Washington, DC. The exhibition will be held June 21 at 5:00 pm and will run until 10:00 pm.
To share beauty, happiness and pain with the world. To show what can be created when the brain feels trapped, when the eyes see insanity and when the fingers have no option but the grab a brush or camera and move is what this exhibition is about.
75% of sales made by the artists will be used to assist in the honing of an artist’s craft, create artistic programs for aspiring artists, and provide scholarships and grants to various artists across the world. Oils, acrylics, shutters and apertures will line the walls, showing images from all over the world, all realms, and many thoughts that seeped through the cracks of the artists’ minds.
Jade Andwele has been painting for several years, using her talent as therapy for self, and teaching others to do the same. Darnell Lamont Walker bought a pawn shop film camera is 2002 and has been snapping since, refusing to call himself a photographer, but a writer with a camera. These two artists have known each other several lifetimes but this is only their second exhibition together.
