The Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) hosts the annual Bahrain Grand Prix, a round of the FIA Formula 1 (F1) World Championship. This year’s race is taking place from 4 6 April 2014.
Opened in 2004, the circuit has 57 race laps and a length of 5.4 km. During the building stage of the circuit, Hempel was chosen to supply its protective and decorative coatings. Since then, Hempel has been a major supplier for BIC both during the Grand Prix season but also throughout the year to ensure the maintenance of the circuit.
“Our relationship with BIC is based on mutual trust and respect. BIC chose Hempel for the excellent quality of our products and the technical support and service they receive before, during and after the supply process,” says Jamil Matraji, Area Sales Manager Bahrain.
Hempel supplied the circuit with its high-end emulsion Topaz Matt Emulsion in 12 vivid colours, creating an astonishing scheme of calligraphy combined with geometric shapes.
The 2004 Bahrain Grand Prix was the first-ever F1 championship to be held in the Middle East. Every year the race attracts thousands of spectators and it is watched by millions around the world.
