Panama City, Panama, 2005/09/02 - According to ExtraSales Research Center (ESRC) results 80% e-business owners are concerned with the problem of unreliability of their possible online business partners. They say it is hard to be sure the security of future deals is provided.
The research lasted in August, and during this time 754 online business owners all around the world were asked about the major problems they suffer on internet business making. As ESRC reports, 603 respondents, that is 80%, said the most important concern is reliability of new partners. They explain that they usually apprehend to establish new partner relationships because it is too difficult to check the good name and become sure that new business partner is absolutely reliable.
“We are not surprised with the results,” ES Project Manager Andre Sabano comments. “The issue is really urgent, because Internet is the space where entrance is open to everyone. There is no face control or identity card checking. That is why it is a favorable environment for cheaters of all kind.”
The other 16% said they are not very much concerned with the problem, mostly because they use expensive technologies and equipment to check every new counteragent. However, just a few businesses can afford it. At the same time, 48% (362 respondents) confessed they have already suffered different problems connected with business` insecurity.
All respondents agreed that provision of secure and honest business relationships is not the each separate e-businessman`s concern, but it is an issue for the whole online community to think about and take appropriate measures. Some suggested creating a kind of “Declaration” or “Convention” however it can hardly be applied at online business field.
When asked about the possible solution, 92% respondents (694 business owners) answered that they would like to participate in special online business groups. They described a business community, which would be not for one and all, and not everyone will be allowed to become a member. The community must be a kind of guarantor of both good names of its members for a business owner and the businessman`s good name for other members. In addition, 71% respondents (535 businessmen) said it would be good to have an opportunity to make deals just inside the community. 88% (664 respondents) said they are even ready to pay a reasonable price for membership.
Among the other problems which impede successful online business making the respondents singled out: 23% (176) -- discrepancy in legislations (when co-operating with foreign business); 8% (61) -- time-zone difference; 4% (30) -- problems with connection.
