Twin Cities Community Hospital announces its recent appointment of Kathleen Juvet, RN, BSN, MBA, as the new Nursing Director of the Emergency Department at Twin Cities Community Hospital.
A Nipomo resident, Juvet brings over 25 years of experience in emergency nursing, as well as extensive experience in ambulatory services, to the North County hospital. Most recently the Administrative Director at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford in Palo Alto, California, Juvet has also been the Director of Emergency Services and the Specialty Services Leader/Assistant Medical Group Administrator at Kaiser Santa Clara, California, and held a number of management and directorial roles with Good Samaritan Health Systems in San Jose, California. She received both a BSN and MBA from San Jose University and is a Fellow of the California Health Leadership College.
“Kathleen has built strong teams in both clinical and non-clinical arenas and is highly attentive to staff engagement and patient-centered care,” says Twin Cities Community Hospital’s Chief Nursing Officer Carol Howland, RN, MSN, CNE, BC.
Juvet, whose clinical area has always been emergency nursing, says she has a particular passion for working in the emergency department. “I think you find patients sometimes in their worst hours inside of an emergency department, and what is especially great is seeing a department come together to meet the needs of every patient in-need,” Juvet says.
At Twin Cities Community Hospital’s Emergency Department, Juvet plans to continue her work of providing strong healthcare leadership skills in the realms of communication, problem solving, and positive engagement strategies.
“I have a very patient-focused approach in the work that we do here: involving the patients and families in their care and how they want to receive care,” Juvet says. “We have a tremendous opportunity to communicate and educate patients along the way so that they not only understand the care they receive, but are also better prepared to take care of themselves and manage their own health moving forward.”
A mother of two, grandmother of one, and an avid golfer, Juvet says that since relocating to the Central Coast and beginning work at Twin Cities she has been most impressed with the level of care among the staff. “The leadership of the hospital as a whole has been warm and welcoming but most of all, everyone cares about working here and what they are doing for their community and patients.”
Twin Cities Community Hospital, part of Tenet Health Corporation, is a 122-bed acute care hospital at 1100 Las Tablas Road in Templeton. Since opening in 1977, Twin Cities has provided personalized quality patient care as the cornerstone of its operating philosophy. Twin Cities’ new patient tower, opened in fall 2007, provides 30 new private rooms for obstetrics, intensive and telemetry care patients, and 23 ER suites, including three trauma rooms.
