These awards honor printed and electronic communications that demonstrate superior writing, editing, organization, and design.
Energetics’ communications specialists, print and web designers, and technical staff created the winning publications in collaboration with clients at the U.S. Department of Energy (Clean Energy Ministerial, Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability); the U.S. China Clean Energy Research Center (CERC); and GridWise Alliance. These products help our clients engage with key audiences to raise awareness, increase participation, and inform complex decision making.
The U.S. China Clean Energy Research Center Annual Report 2012 won an Award of Excellence. The report is the second in a series that Energetics has developed for CERC a collaborative public-private partnership that facilitates joint research and development of clean energy technologies by teams of U.S. and Chinese scientists and engineers. Judges commended this report for presenting complex information in a manner that is "clear and concise," "well organized," and easy to follow. The report highlights CERC’s key accomplishments for the year, assesses progress to date, discusses future plans, and provides a detailed fact sheet for each Chinese and American research project.
Public-Private Roundtables at the Fourth Clean Energy Ministerial won an Award of Excellence as well. The report summarizes six public-private roundtable discussions held during the Clean Energy Ministerial’s fourth annual meeting of world energy ministers. Judges commended the document’s "professional presentation," "well-balanced" and practical recommendations, appealing design, and appropriateness for a diverse international audience. The report effectively highlights government and industry participants’ insights into the technologies, investments, and skills needed to overcome key challenges in six critical clean energy areas.
Also winning an Award of Excellence, the report Improving Electric Grid Reliability and Resilience: Lessons Learned from Superstorm Sandy and Other Extreme Events explores key challenges in the electricity delivery system. Drawing from input gathered during an industry workshop, Energetics helped GridWise frame the report around well-developed themes, creating a broad view of the challenges facing industry and a set of compelling recommendations to address them. STC judges applauded the report for striking a perfect "balance between being clear and concise" and for showcasing the content in an appealing,"inviting layout."
The Institute for Industrial Productivity Strategic Plan received an Award of Merit. This eight-page publication describes the organization’s purpose, strategic focus, and full range of activities. STC judges complimented the document for being "visually appealing," "easy to read," well organized, and perfectly edited.
The three publications that earned Awards of Excellence will now be entered in STC’s international-level competition, which honors best-in-class communications from around the world.
