A series of photographs created by Carrie-Anne Gonzalez, Co-owner of Carrie Weston Studios in East Northport was recently accepted into the prestigious art show,“Donna,” in the city of Gubbio, Italy. Gonzalez’s work is on display at the Hall of the Captains of the Palazzo dei Consoli in Via Baldassini in Gubbio, Italy. This international photographic exhibition was put together by the Terracomunica Association, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting social and cultural areas of photography.
This meaningful exhibition was organized to raise awareness to stop violence against women. Out of hundreds of entries, approximately 20 images were accepted for the exhibition to represent emerging photographers from New York.
“I am honored and humbled to have my work displayed at this exhibition,” said Gonzalez. “I have traveled to dozens of countries and have always enjoyed photographing women capturing their inner beauty, their struggles, their culture…I am thrilled to have my work displayed in such an important and meaningful exhibition in Italy.”
The exhibition was celebrated on November 25, 2013, International Day Against Violence Against Women and will be on display until March 2014. More information about the exhibition can be found at on our website.
