A new guitar store is opening in Champaign, IL, on January 18th, at 11am.
The Upper Bout deals in fine guitars, basses, and accessories. Also offered are repair services, lessons, and a performance space.
"At The Upper Bout we believe that a guitar is more than just a product. The right musical instrument can be a tool providing an immeasurable amount of joy to one’s life," says long-time Champaign resident and owner, Ricky Bright. "We strive to offer an elegant and inviting space for both professionals and hobbyists to spend time with a variety of instruments. Our mission is to facilitate an experience during which the customer will naturally gravitate towards an instrument that will bring him or her delight for years to come."
The Upper Bout is an authorized Gibson, Orange Amplification, Breedlove Guitars, Hohner Harmonica, and Takamine Guitar dealer. The Upper Bout also specializes in used guitars, used amplifiers, and vintage instruments. The store also buys, trades, and sells used gear on consignment.
The store offers private, one-on-one lessons with experienced teachers, as well as group lessons. Instruction is available for guitar, bass, mandolin, ukulele, piano, and vocal. Lessons are currently available prior to Grand Opening.
The Grand Opening will take place on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM.
A Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker guitar will be given away at the Grand Opening Celebration. Entry submissions will only be accepted on Saturday, in-store, and the winner must be present to accept their prize.
