Building off the success of the “Rediscover Iowa’s Creative Corridor” campaign promoted this past football season at all Iowa Football road games and to nationwide Iowa Clubs, the Iowa City Area Development Group (ICAD Group) is launching a new workforce and regional branding initiative during the Hawkeye Huddle in Tampa, Florida.
Called “Iowa Brag,” this Twitter and Tumblr based campaign will provide facts about Iowa’s Creative Corridor to fans and followers of these new social media accounts. Posts will continue throughout 2014.
To launch the campaign, special Outback Bowl themed buttons will be handed out during the Hawkeye Huddle in Tampa. Button messages say things such as “Our Opponents Look Good in Pink,” “27 Bowl Games and Counting,” and “Hayden Fry: The Man, The Myth, The Mustache.”
According to DaLayne Williamson, ICAD Group Workforce Business Services Director, the goal is to reconnect alumni and former residents to the growth and opportunities in Iowa’s Creative Corridor. “We hear over and over from Iowa Clubs across the country that their members want to know what’s happening back home and if there are jobs and opportunities for them,” said Williamson. “Our region needs to continue promoting the great things happening here, so IowaBrag.com will become a source for this information that fans and followers can share on Twitter, Facebook and other social media accounts.”
Both IowaBrag.com and social network will help connect followers to both the PickYourPace.com website as well as the IowasCreativeCorridor.com website. “It’s OK to brag, and we have so much to share,” added Williamson. “IowaBrag.com is a new way to provide updates on business growth, career opportunities, quality of life, and starting businesses here in Iowa City and Iowa’s Creative Corridor.”
Campaign creative was developed and designed by two members of the IC CoLab: Creative Mellen and Sculpt. Sculpt will also manage the posts on social network.
