CRI was chosen to help make the Samsung Vivo City facility in Singapore a truly functional space that allows the retail process to flourish, while injecting fun, excitement, and education into the mix. Audio, video, and control systems were key elements that were used to enhance the architecture, and allow the Samsung flagship experience to thrive.
Together with Lippincot Mercer and Marsh McLennan Real Estate, CRI (cri.com) set a context for anyone walking into the store. They wanted them to feel awed and excited about being there.
To help make the customer experience fun and exciting, experiential video technology was used.
Throughout the store, 9 video screens are used to relay targeted information about Samsung products. When a customer is the in the MP3 area, they see information and images of MP3 players. When in the IT area, the display relates information about laptops and printers. These displays help the customer make a purchase decision and evaluate the special features of Samsung products.
The video wall displays allow Samsung to communicate with their customers on a more visceral, thematic level. Instead of messages about megapixels and gigabytes, the customer learns how this technology can enhance their life. Additionally, all these displays are linked, so that a lifestyle story can be told, around the store, by moving images and video from one set of displays to the next.
The “imagine bar” in the center of the store features Samsung innovations that raise the bar of technology products. To help customers learn about the products and how they can enhance their lives, each product is linked to a video screen. When a customer picks up a product, the screen reacts, displaying a combination of technical information and contextual lifestyle images to help the customer see how the product can fit into their life.
To complete the experience, CRI provided a zoned system that allows Samsung to control the source and volume of the sound of the video from a wireless touchpad.
