This website is devoted to raising awareness about breast cancer, empowering the community to take control of their breast health, promoting innovative programs which support breast cancer fighters and survivors, and engaging the community in volunteer, awareness, and fundraising efforts. Each of the unique For 3 Sisters programs are featured in detail including a focus on the newly launched Road To Resources program.
Road To Resources is a one of a kind program designed to ease the burden brought on by a breast cancer diagnosis, and to improve the quality of life of men and women during and after their breast cancer journey. The Road to Resources page of the website has detailed information about the program including a Frequently Asked Questions, and a secure, online questionnaire to request assistance in finding medical, financial, emotional, and basic needs support.
In addition to the program pages, the For 3 Sisters website provides many unique pages including their Stories that INSPIRE page and Galleries of HOPE page. Stories That INSPIRE features the previously untold stories of breast cancer fighters, survivors, and those who support the fight against breast cancer. The Galleries of HOPE page offers two galleries the Celebration Gallery and the Memorial Gallery.
For 3 Sisters is also committed to using their newly designed ‘Get Involved’ page as a means to involve the public in supporting the mission of For 3 Sisters; involvement which includes a variety of opportunities, including the ability to give monetary contributions that will directly affect the lives of breast cancer fighters and their care givers.
About For 3 Sisters and Founders Marshall and Shannon Moneymaker:
For 3 Sisters was started in 2011 by retired Montgomery County, Maryland career firefighter, Marshall Moneymaker, and his wife, Shannon Moneymaker after Marshall lost three older sisters to breast cancer. Overwhelmed with grief, Marshall started sharing his story and expressed an interest in doing more for the breast cancer community. In support and gratitude of Marshall’s awareness and outreach efforts, Marshall’s fire department shift mates surprised Marshall with pink firefighter gear. Friends and local media dubbed him “The Pink Fireman” and, in honor and memory of his three sisters, For 3 Sisters was born.
For 3 Sisters’ mission is to raise awareness and improve the quality of life for men and women affected by breast cancer. Marshall’s story and the work of For 3 Sisters has been featured on Good Morning America, the Washington DC affiliates of FOX, ABC, CBS, NBC, The Washington Post, and CNN. For 3 Sisters’ main programs include Power of ONE, McKenzie’s Corner, and the recently launched Road to Resources. Marshall and Shannon have become activists in the breast cancer community through the unique programs offered by For 3 Sisters.
