The Cromaine Library, Hartland’s downtown businesses, the Chamber of Commerce, and Avon Street’s historic sites are all working together to create more than 10 Polar Express-themed activities and stations in Downtown Hartland that will run from 10 am until 2 pm. From hot cocoa on the Tea House Porch to mixing up a batch of magical reindeer food at the Vet Clinic to Certified Elf Training at the Library, it’s the perfect event for families to celebrate the season and experience the magic of The Polar Express as it comes to life in Downtown Hartland.
“We are super excited for Polar Express Day,” said Lauren Hobson, President of Five Sparrows. “As one of Hartland’s downtown businesses, we will be hosting a holiday-themed Photo Booth during the event with all kinds of props, costumes, and scenes so people can have fun snapping pictures with their friends, then print out photo strips to take home with them.”
After the event, Photo Booth pictures will also be available in an online Guest Gallery, so users can download their photos, send them to friends and family, or print out extra copies to share for the holidays.
“We have even created a Polar Express Day micro-site with event details, interactive maps, and other goodies like a 25-day countdown calendar, downloadable coloring pages, and other kid-focused activities,” said Hobson.
With Avon Street transformed into an enchanted Polar Express-themed wonderland, kids can explore the Polar Express Train (complete with tickets and a real conductor), make a silver bell necklace project, decorate holiday cookies, meet a live reindeer, enjoy live entertainment, string popcorn and cranberries, hear live readings of The Polar Express book, and more. The event and all activities are FREE!
