This year the European convention of the Sustainable Cosmetics Summit was held in Paris, at the Paris Marriott Champs Elysées hotel, in October 21-23. The green cosmetics compositions and the sustainable cosmetics packaging were the two main topics of the convention.
Furthermore, they were thoroughly discussed the different ways to reduce the eco footprint of the cosmetic industries through their green components and eco packaging. As always, the main goal of this convention was to promote the importance of sustainability to the cosmetic industries by bringing together the stakeholders.
For the first time in the history of the Sustainable Cosmetics Summit, the Sustainable Beauty Awards took part in order to recognize and honor the innovative companies that actively promote the sustainable development at the beauty industry and create added value to the society and the environment above and beyond products.
The winners of the awards on the five different categories were announced on a special ceremony after the end of the first day of the convention on the 21st of October. There were 150 nominees from all over the world.
Between the nominees there were multinational giants of the cosmetic industries, such as Procter & Gamble, L' Oreal, Weleda, IFF, Firmenich, Akzo Nobel. They were 15 finalists, 3 in each category, of which the first and the second of each category were awarded.
APIVITA (apivita.com) was represented by the founder and vice-president of the company Mr Nikos Koutsianas and the Head of Sustainability Mr Anagnostis Tsoukalas and received the 2nd place award, at the “Sustainability Pioneer” category, for its timeless innovation in sustainability issues with significant sensitivity in social responsibility matters, such as the campaign of the “pastilles for someone else¢s pain” in collaboration with the Doctors without borders.
This distinction is a great reward for all our people, partners and clients that believe and support, for 35 years, APIVITA¢s vision, values and philosophy.
This award is also a great chance for Greece to show to the whole world the ability of creating and teaching the healthy and ethical way of entrepreneurship.
It gives us the power to continue making the right choices and creating values for the society and the environment.
