TagMaster North America, Inc., the leading provider of long-range and high-performance Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems for Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI), was installed at the Cal Stripe maintenance yard in Colton, CA.
Cal Stripe, one of the line-painting contracts for the California Department of Transportation (CalTrans), originally used manually operated gates that required truck drivers to get out of their vehicles and open the gates themselves.
Rising Star Industries installed the solution using LR-6 PRO readers, utilizing TagMaster’s long-range read lobes to open the DoorKing 9000 slide gates for the work trucks as soon as they are within range. Tamper Evident (TpE) S1281 tags were installed on the windshield of maintenance and work vehicles to allow access 24 hours a day and select employees also have gate access using the MarkTag MeM S1240 tags or the Wiegand keypads. The directional read lobe of the readers allow a variety of vehicle sizes to open the gate when approaching, even from difficult or tight angles.
