Anyone who has ever been inside a hospital waiting room knows first hand how sterile, cold and terrifying they are, but that's about to change. Enter Jason Pinchoff and his mission - The Waiting Room Project.
By working with interior designers and the hospital, The Waiting Room Project will transform these barren, bleak, lifeless hospital waiting rooms into warm, serene living room-like atmospheres that will offer comfort and optimism to both patients and their families. New flooring and lighting, comfortable furniture and colorful artwork will allow for a more cheerful, uplifting environment. Children will have access to play areas and an array of resources to nurture their spirits.
Pinchoff, who lost his own mother to breast cancer in 1996, after a long and arduous fight, spent countless days and nights in hospital waiting rooms while his mother received treatment. "At an early age, I learned how scary and grim these waiting rooms could be. I remember staring at blank walls feeling terrified and lonely. The Waiting Room Project is my life's mission to bring inspiration, warmth and hope to others going through this agonizing ordeal. No human being, let alone a child, should ever have to feel the hopelessness that I experienced as a kid."
Now a successful producer and director, Jason's worked with some of the biggest names in the Hip Hop - Ice T, Kanye West, Rihanna, Chubb Rock and Dana Dane, - as well entertainment industry conglomerates such as - Disney, McGraw Hill, Live Nation and Clear Channel. Driven by his success and compassion, Jason has formed the Linda B. Pinchoff Foundation in honor of his mother.
This non-for-profit organization offers support to families whose loved ones are fighting cancer and The Waiting Room Project is its flagship effort. One of the first waiting rooms to be transformed is the Breast Cancer Center at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Florida - But Pinchoff doesn't stop there!
Jason has created a new line of urban hats to fuel his aspiration; PINCH NYC. Born in the city and forged on the streets, these hats push trends to the limit from stitch to seam. 10% of the profit of every hat sold will be used to fund The Waiting Room Project. As if that weren't enough, Pinchoff will also be donating 100% of the profits from his PINCH NYC Breast Cancer Awareness hats to The Waiting Room Project!
