FTI Consulting, Inc., the global business advisory firm dedicated to helping organisations protect and enhance their enterprise value, today announced the appointment of Ian Marshall as Managing Director in its insurance consultancy practice in the UK.
Mr. Marshall has over 30 years of experience directing investigatory, due diligence and litigation cases. In addition to his UK experience, he has worked on projects in Bermuda, the United States, Canada, continental Europe, Latin America. Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Marshall was the Group Head of Consulting at specialist firm Chiltington International.
The UK insurance practice is led by industry veteran Jerry McArthur and is part of FTI Consulting’s global insurance team which provides end-to-end consultancy services for the insurance industry. In his new role, Mr. Marshall will focus on meeting the rising demand for litigation services from insurance clients, which has increased due to the challenging economic environment, with cases arising as a result of loss reserve adequacy and variances in pricing and reserving, among others. Mr. Marshall will work closely with FTI Consulting’s insurance industry group in the United States, providing his industry expertise to FTI Consulting’s international client base.

Mr. Marshall holds a B.A. (Hons) in Economics and Accounting from the University of Hull and continues to lecture on insurance auditing and accounting and provides training to accounting students. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Chartered Insurance Practitioner (ACII) and the Academy of Experts.
