ANDRITZ Energy & Environment (AE&E), part of international technology Group ANDRITZ, has received an order from Empresa Eléctrica Guacolda to supply three flue gas cleaning plants using the ANDRITZ Turbo-CDS system, four desalination plants and a selective catalytic reduction DeNOx system for Guacolda, a coal-fired power station in Huasco, Chile.
Start-up is scheduled for late 2015/early 2016. The order value is approximately 150 million euros.
Due to recent more stringent legal requirements in Chile, Empresa Eléctrica Guacolda is investing in an environmental protection program in order to further reduce the emissions from Guacolda power station. With an overall capacity of 608 megawatts, the power plant contributes an essential part of the power supply to the region’s industry and households.
This order confirms the position of ANDRITZ Air Pollution Control as one of the world’s leading suppliers of flue gas cleaning and selective catalytic reduction plants.
