AEDP’s mission is to promote the City of Alexandria as the premier location for business in the greater Washington metropolitan region. Together, AEDP and Carousel30 will expand the reach of the Partnership’s message as they work to expand the tax base. The Alexandria Economic Development Partnership offers a wealth of resources for existing and prospective businesses, commercial real estate professionals, small business owners and residents.
As the exclusive marketing, creative and technology partner of AEDP, Carousel30 will provide new and expand existing channels for communicating Alexandria’s attributes to targeted audiences. The partnership between AEDP and Carousel30 will in turn further the organization’s objectives for business attraction and retention, increasing occupancy rates and retail sales, and general increases in positive sentiment and perception of doing business in the City.
Carousel30 is tasked with marketing AEDP’s existing portfolio of research tools including maps, demographics, economic indicators, business lists and details on incentives available to businesses. With the objective of expanding the reach of AEDP’s message, Carousel30 will manage the brand's website and mobile offerings, social media presence, public relations, and online advertising.
“The new partnership between AEDP and Carousel30 comes at an important time for Alexandria,” stated AEDP President & CEO Val P. Hawkins. “We want to strategically capitalize on the relocation of the National Science Foundation (NSF) to the City in 2017. NSF will move to the Carlyle/East Eisenhower neighborhood, just a few blocks away from the existing U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) complex. We envision the USPTO and NSF as complimentary anchors that will establish Carlyle as a hub for creativity, innovation and research, and will spur exponential economic growth and vitality in our City. Carousel30 will partner with us to capture that momentum, and multiply its positive impact on Alexandria.” NSF is expected to yield more than $83 million annually in ongoing direct and indirect economic benefits and, along with supporting businesses and organizations, add 4,273 new, stable jobs to the City’s employment base.
“We look forward to a productive partnership between our Alexandria-based businesses,” said Carousel30's Founder and VP of Strategy Greg Kihlström. “We anticipate great results from combining our creative and technical expertise with the assets of the area we know so well.”
Carousel30 began working with AEDP in July of 2013.
