BITracks, a training and consulting firm dedicated to delivering business intelligence (BI) expertise, has opened up shop in Cincinnati, OH, and plans to double their staff by the end of the year.
With more than 20 years of BI experience, BITracks president and founder, James Miller has been providing niche BI consulting services and custom made solutions to clients throughout the globe who need to better leverage their data in order to reach their business goals.
Since 2005, Miller has been operating his business on his own as a singular contractor, however, due to the ever increasing buzz of big data and its corresponding analytics requirements, as well as the growing needs of his clients overall, he has expanded throughout the past year, growing his staff to six resources and leasing office space in Springdale to serve as his headquarters.
“This has been such an explosive year for business intelligence,” Miller said. “Organizations are realizing BI is no longer a nice-to-have - it’s a must. They now understand the ROI surrounding their data potential is really endless.”
Based on the needs of his longstanding clients, Miller is in the process of hiring several experienced consultants to join his team in order to continue to grow the firm and become a one-stop BI firm for companies throughout the country. He believes BI will experience a tremendous growth spurt this year and he hopes to capitalize on the boom.
In fact, BI has become such a hot topic and is in high demand across all industries, but companies are experiencing difficulty finding candidates who have a strong command in BI, including BITrack’s wheelhouse - the Microsoft BI stack: Database Engine (SQL), Reporting Services (SSRS), Integrated Services (SSIS), Analysis Services (SSAS), Master Data Services (MDS), and Data Quality Services (DQS).
To respond to this shortage, in addition to providing BI consulting services, Miller, decided to partner with global training company, Solid Quality Mentors, to launch private training courses in Cincinnati. The training courses will cater to companies who would like to leverage their existing BI talent pool, providing them with highly specialized courses, giving them the know-how necessary to make their data work for them and in turn, increase ROI.
“These courses were designed to address real world business problems, so students will have a true understanding of how to find solutions for their BI issues,” said Miller. “Will they be able to pass their Microsoft certification exam? Absolutely. Our primary goal, however, is to provide a curriculum that enables students to truly understand the subject matter, and apply it to their work accordingly.”

Miller has worked in many facets of the IT business for 30 years, with a primary focus on data warehousing, enterprise reporting, business intelligence, dashboards, analytics, data modeling (relational, multi-dimensional), ETL frameworks, strategic design, Master Data, database performance tuning, and replication. In previous engagements, Miller has fulfilled roles as Data Architect, DBA, IT Director, and Senior Consultant.
He has also had some extraordinary opportunities to lead IT organizations, with multinational participants, on reconstruction projects based in Bosnia as part of the Dayton Peace Agreement, and more recently in Iraq with the US Department of State.
