Puuba, Inc. announced this week its first in-production video game effort, Concursion. Concursion is a single 2D action game seamlessly fusing together five different original, and uniquely designed, games each based on a classic gameplay genre. A "Retro Gaming Fusion Mashup", Concursion blends all five of these unique styles each into a single cohesive real-time shifting game.
Each game world has its own completely distinctive art and gameplay style, ranging from modern renders to 8-bit graphics, as well as its own distinctive take on the soundtrack. Each level's song's performance style will wholly change as the hero nears and crosses new worlds.
We invite you to please visit our Kickstarter page, containing even more trailer and video material, launching today.
The Game:
The story of Concursion is about one hero on a mission to save his princess and stop their hybrid world from being torn apart. Throughout his journey, and mid-level, our hero will regularly encounter gaps in the reality of the world - seams where one gaming world meets another. The art style changes, the music style cross-fades, and all creatures' behaviors are affected by the change. As the hero crosses these boundaries, he instantly transforms into a new form:
A fast sprinting Platformer
A Shoot 'Em Up spaceship
A Hack And Slash double-jumping, 6-way-slashing ninja A Jetpack wielding planetary explorer A Top Down Maze Explorer
Features Include:
- 5 fully realized gaming worlds, each with their own unique aesthetic
- Additional classic game genres featured within boss-fights, NPCs, and story surprises
- Run, Jump, Hack, Slash, Double Jump, Fly, Shoot, Eat Dots, and Poof to adapt to the game’s challenges
- 45+ song sound track, most songs re-performed wholly in 5 distinct versions.
Release Date: 1st quarter, 2014
Platform: PC and Mac
