AIDS Assistance Foundation and the Andrew Dougherty Vision Foundation have partnered to help bring free vision care to those living with HIV/AIDS in the Southern California area. The two foundations signed the agreement in June 2013. AIDS Assistance Foundation already offers free chiropractic, acupuncture, yoga, Reiki, and reflexology through its wellness center, Sidelle Wellness, and will now add vision to its long list of free services. The Andrew Dougherty Vision Foundation has previously offered its services to those in need, mainly in war-torn and disaster struck areas, but will now bring the free care back to Southern California. Together the two Foundations will make a significant difference in the lives of those living with HIV/AIDS.
Later in the year, the two foundations will continue their partnership and are planning to hold a golf tournament fundraiser. The proceeds of the fundraiser will benefit the Andrew Dougherty Vision Foundation’s next trip to Haiti and help continue the free services offered at Sidelle Wellness.
