• Imaging industry lines up behind the show;
• Hosted at the NEC, Saturday 1 Tuesday 4 March 2014.

Lined up to take place at Birmingham’s NEC, between Saturday 1 and Tuesday 4 March 2014, this new consumer and professional event will combine highly interactive features to entertain and engage consumers, with dedicated conferences and events for the trade and retailer attendees. The Photography Show will be a must-visit event for amateurs, professionals and retailers and today’s news caps a fantastic launch period for the event, with over 50 companies already committed to exhibit.

Future Head of Photography Matthew Pierce says: “We have been overwhelmed by the market support and the positive reaction to our plans to create a vibrant event packed full of great content for the pro, trade and enthusiast alike. Having major manufacturers such as Nikon and Olympus so quickly commit to The Photography Show is a ringing endorsement for our event blueprint. We’re looking forward to welcoming more partners as the outbound sales campaign gets underway.”

Nikon UK Group Marketing Manager Jeremy Gilbert says: “The Photography Show is the ideal platform for Nikon to engage with its customers; to give them the opportunity to see and experience new product and be inspired by Nikon. We’re particularly excited by the fresh new approach to an industry show that incorporates some exciting new ideas and consumer-friendly activities that allow us to reach a wider audience. As a key event in our calendar this year, Nikon will be looking to secure a major presence at the show to reflect the hugely successful ‘I AM Nikon’ brand campaign.”

Olympus National Marketing Manager Mark Thackara says: “Olympus has signed up to The Photography Show in a big way. Future has a brave and exciting plan to bring fresh faces to the NEC in March with some innovative and comprehensive attractions. We plan to complement the existing plans with some interactive action of our own. We can’t say too much at the moment but the aim will be to keep people entertained and engaged!”

Future is the world’s leading publisher of photography magazines, with an amazing portfolio of successful brands online, on mobile and in print. Digital Camera is the UK’s best-selling monthly photography title in both print and digital. Photography Week is the world’s best-selling digital weekly photography magazine.

Practical Photoshop is the UK’s best-selling Photoshop magazine.

N-Photo and PhotoPlus are the world’s best-selling Nikon and Canon magazines respectively. Future’s photography brands reach more than one million enthusiasts each month and our photography websites deliver more than 6 million page views every month.

The Photography Show will bring all this experience and enthusiasm to life for the UK’s growing audience of amateur photographers, with some of the biggest names in the industry unlocking the secrets of their craft. The show floor itself will be brimming with hundreds of exhibitors, the very latest kit and accessories, and an array of interactive opportunities to get involved. A full-spec studio suite will also be created on-site for visitors wanting to get hands-on in a professional environment, and themed areas including a Wildflower Garden will be specially created to ensure all subject interests are fully catered for. More activities will be announced in coming months, including details of a major gallery exhibition.

The Photography Show will be supported by a major six-figure marketing campaign, including targeting Future’s own leading technology brands T3 and TechRadar.com, which, as the UK’s biggest tech review site, reaches over four million tech enthusiasts every month.

The UK photographic industry has already reacted with enthusiastic support:

Steve Thirsk, The Guild of Photographers: “The Guild is delighted (but not surprised) that interest in The Photography Show is growing so quickly. We suspected it would be very popular with its creative, interactive approach and the strong marketing team behind it, hence we were one of the first to book to attend. We’re particularly excited about the interactive element, which we will be supporting by having industry-leading speakers and demonstrations on our stand.”

Mark Scotton, Hague Camera Supports: “Hague Camera Supports have announced that they will be bringing their range of camera support systems and accessories to the inaugural Photography Show. With a range of equipment that brings something different to the show it is great to be on board. With there now being a greater cross-over between stills photography and video it will give visitors the chance to further investigate the options available for moving shots from a leading manufacturer of this type of equipment.”

David Bugden, CBL Distribution: “We’re really looking forward to The Photography Show as its expanded offering will highlight the new developments in photography. We’re making sure we have the widest range of books on the latest cameras and software to help all visitors make the most of their photography skills.”

Adam Juniper, Ilex Press: “As a book publisher, our bestselling photographer-authors are looking forward to the opportunity to meet their public and share their tips and tricks one-to-one on the stand.”

Hamish Symington, Light Blue Software Ltd: “We’ve found that face-to-face contact with potential customers greatly increases the likelihood that they’ll buy, so shows are really important to us. We’re really looking forward to seeing professional photographers at The Photography Show, and welcome the new ideas for professionals that Future has come up with.”

Edwin de Bruijn, Easycover: “EasyCover is proud to be part of The Photography Show and the easyCover 2014 collection will be launched in Birmingham; including new colourful easyCovers!”

Andy Moore, Megalabs Ltd: “We are greatly looking forward to exhibiting at The Photography Show in March. As a growing business we look forward to the exposure the show will bring along with meeting the regulars from the industry once more at the NEC. The buzz surrounding The Photography Show is growing − the updated floor plan, competitive pricing, new features and events all point towards The Photography Show being the one show in 2014 you don’t want to miss out on.”

Jess Boothroyd, 3 Legged Thing: “3 Legged Thing are totally excited to be exhibiting at The Photography Show 2014. We are loving Future’s fresh and enthusiastic approach to bring the UK photographic community ‘the greatest show on earth!’. 3 Legged Thing will be launching some awesome new innovations and is proud to be providing the trapeze artists and lion tamers for the finale. See you all there!”

Steve Holmes, HHJ Trading: “We are just so happy the show is taking place. It’s what the industry needs − a professional show for professionals large and small.”

Charlie Kaufman, CCC: “We at Click Connection Corporation are looking forward to exhibiting at The Photography Show and have secured the largest stand we have ever booked. Offerings to delegates will include the largest range of photographic props and backgrounds on the market, live demos, education and obviously our new client generation schemes.”

Vij Solanki, The Imaging Warehouse: “PermaJet will have an all-interactive stand bringing the widest choice of papers, canvases and accessories for the printer. Not to be missed, PermaJet shall be launching and showcasing some fantastic and exciting new products that we have been developing for many months. So come along and visit the team.”

Mark Winterbottom, Redwood Pro Lab and Wholesalers: “Redwood Pro Lab and Wholesalers are excited about the new show. The Photography Show will be the breath of fresh air that we have been hoping for. A new fresh look at our industry and what it has to offer to the professional and amateur alike is well overdue, the old saying ‘A change is as good as a rest’ has never been more apt. In the true spirit of the show, Redwood Pro Lab and Wholesaler is releasing a line of great new schools and professional products aimed at both the established professional and the new aspiring professional backed up by a comprehensive level of marketing support rarely seen from professional laboratories.”

Terry Fogden, SRB Photographic: “The Photography Show offers much more to us as a company and to visitors alike. It has a new team behind it full of fresh ideas for consumers and retailers alike. SRB Photographic has a whole new range of products to show and we feel the Photography Show is the place to shout about them.”
