The awards were presented by members of the judiciary on May 16th during the Sarasota County Bar Association’s annual luncheon.
Arthur D. Ginsburg, a senior counselor at the firm, shareholder Troy H. Myers, Jr., and associate Julie A. Simonson each received the Gold Pro Bono Award for donating more than 100 hours of service time throughout the year. Shareholders William W. Merrill III and Michael L. Foreman, and members Robert K. Lincoln and Stacy Dillard-Spahn were recognized at the Silver level for donating 50-99 hours of free legal services each, while Thomas F. Icard, Jr., Robert A. Drean, Joseph M. Herbert, F. Thomas Hopkins, Todd D. Kaplan, Alyssa M. Nohren and Lindsey A. Meshberger were honored at the Bronze level for each providing 20-49 hours of service. The Hon. Lee Haworth presented Stacy Dillard-Spahn with the Pro Bono Advisory Board Award in special recognition for her establishment of a firm wide pro bono plan at Icard Merrill.
Legal Aid of Manasota is a non-profit civil law firm that provides free legal services to low income individuals and families in Sarasota and Manatee counties. Attorneys donate their time and expertise in such areas as domestic violence, family law, foreclosures, veterans’ issues and elder law.
