RelocateTriangle, a blog providing information to people interested in relocating to the Triangle, has announced the release of a podcast on the current and future economic factors that are shaping life in the Triangle for 2007. In the podcast, Dr. John Silvia, chief economist for Wachovia, addresses the Triangle’s current economic status, as well as discusses the future economic forecast for the Triangle, with a focus on relocation to the area.

Dr. John E. Silvia joined Wachovia Bank in February 2002 as Chief Economist after working on Capitol Hill as Senior Economist for the US Senate Joint Economic Committee and Chief Economist for the US Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee. Prior to Capitol Hill, he was Chief Economist of Kemper Funds and Managing Director of Scudder Kemper Investments, Inc. Dr. Silvia is a member of the Blue Chip Panel of Economic Forecasters, Director of the National Association of Business Economist (NABE), a member of the Economic Advisory Committee at the American Bankers Association and President of the Charlotte Economics Club. Dr. Silvia has served on economic advisory committees to the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and the Public Securities Association. He received his Master’s degree from Brown University and his Ph.D. from Northeastern University.
