To help exporters in Vietnam capture more export sales as the global economy slowly recovers, the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) together with the non-profit Hinrich Foundation and Global Sources (NASDAQ: GSOL) expect to present International Sales Skills workshop in Ho Chi Minh City on July 10.
More than 30 ITPC members are set to participate in the workshop. Focus will be on three fundamentals, namely:
• Know your buyers: Step into your buyers’ shoes for better sales results;
• Know your strengths: Understand your unique selling points to differentiate your company from competitors;
• Bring buyers and sellers together: How to communicate your value proposition to buyers to create more business opportunities.
Head of training department of the Investment and Trade Promotion Center, Trang Tran, said: “Supplier training has always been a focal assignment of ITPC. The value can clearly be seen when the suppliers can apply them into real export marketing platforms supported by the Government.”
Nguyet Hong, Customer relation, Viet Products Corp., said: “Our Viet Products Corp. is an outdoor furniture manufacturer, whose entire output is exported direct. Exporters to the EU are facing challenges caused by the European crisis. However, we aim to overcome the situation by focusing on our advantages, especially on our competitive prices and professional workforce.
“Attending seminars like this is actually one of the best ways for our employees to share and gain real experience through stories sharing with experts and others. I really hope that we can take those opportunities to come up with new solutions and ideas to successfully survive and develop stronger in the future.”
Alexander Boome, Program director of the Hinrich Foundation and workshop leader, said: “Staff skills development and export marketing are key components of any successful export business. Through our Developing Country Export Assistance Program, and this training, we aim to strengthen supplier capability so they can receive more orders and create jobs for local communities.”
