The Co-operative Food, one of the largest food retailers in the United Kingdom, implemented the use of over 6,500 Datalogic Elf™ mobile computers for speeding up daily operations resulting in increased productivity of its SMART (Store Merchandising and Replenishment Transformation) system. The SMART system allows the company to increase its focus on store based ordering, streamlining various tasks within the daily store processes. The implementation of the Datalogic Elf PDAs, along with the improved Wi-Fi infrastructure and central replenishment centre, resulted in freeing up the store associates to assist customers. The project was managed and delivered by BT Expedite.
