URC allows businesses to upload a video, where they can showcase their product and/or service and at the same time demonstrate their digital marketing capabilities.
URC has created a searchable database of businesses where potential buyers can locate suppliers via a keyword search, including business name, address, city/state, description, capabilities and certifications. Providing current opportunities which can develop into teaming or subcontracting opportunities; providing a bartering platform, for exchanging of goods or services and other helpful tips.
We recently read an article by Rep. Collene Lamonte (D-Montague, and applaud her efforts mentioned below;
“LANSING Rep. Collene Lamonte (D-Montague) introduced a bill today that would establish the Office of Small Business Development and Entrepreneurship Services, which would be housed within the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. The office Lamonte’s bill creates would coordinate programs dealing with small businesses, set up a searchable database of business organizations and governmental entities governing business and offer practical how-to advice for entrepreneurs navigating the state’s start-up requirements. Currently, state programs helping entrepreneurs and regulating businesses are scattered among several state departments. “The global economy is changing making entrepreneurship more viable and important than ever,” Lamonte said. “It only makes sense to help the people who are trying to create new businesses, jobs, and opportunity in Michigan.”
URC believes this “information disconnect” is not only in the state of Michigan, but widespread throughout many states and other governmental agencies. The good news is that government programs and procurement information is available, and most agencies and private fortune 500 companies now have a social media presence, making it easier to contact.
URC applaud the experienced business owners who understand the time it takes to exchange information and develop a common interest networking, and will work diligently to develop innovative ways to make networking exciting for new entrepreneurs.
URC believes smarter collaboration helps improve business decisions, empowers innovation and creativity, helping to make choices faster and easier, from the very small businesses to large corporations.
Social media is ever changing so businesses need to sometimes think outside the box to create new networking strategies and develop an effective plan of meeting new people online.
