This Update enhances Longview CPM and Tax by improving the open architecture platform to deliver greater functionality, usability, and performance. It offers improved performance in Longview for Excel and Application Framework including Smart Client, and new installation and connectivity options. Longview 7.1 Update 4 also provides enhanced usability features such as the ability for publishers to restrict symbols available for users’ selection.

The latest update includes functional enhancements in the following key areas:
• Smart Client Enhancements Longview Smart Client, a Longview platform component which combines powerful rich client functionality with easy web deployment, provides new data grid usability features in addition to new Longview App features.
• New Platform Features For Longview CPM and Longview Tax, a number of new capabilities have been added including a new ClickOnce install option, new application framework commands and functions and the option to connect components using HTTP(S).
• Longview Tax Enhancements A new Net Income Before Tax administrative editor and Tax and enhanced provision and reporting around Equity and OCI activity and detailed Deferred Tax Proof analysis.
• Usability Enhanced end-user capability in the areas of analysis and reporting, including a number of improvements to reporting usability features such as enabling the restriction of symbols available for users’ selection. In addition, users now have the option to set the symbol type and symbol level globally in Longview for Excel queries, and will benefit from performance optimizations in several areas.
