Los Angeles Community College District has engaged Ciber to enhance its student information system by implementing Oracle’s PeopleSoft Campus Community, part of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions application suite, which will increase efficiency and streamline processes. The deployment also will provide high-powered analytics to support LACCD’s strategic initiatives, such as targeted recruiting and highly proactive, information-driven student retention efforts.
Along with the Oracle solution, Ciber will be implementing an enterprise portal and a new student data warehouse designed to bring all student information in the district into one place. These systems will eliminate redundant records and give LACCD the ability to do analytical reporting, such as student lifecycle tracking from prospecting through matriculation and alumni support.
“The efficiencies we expect to gain with this implementation will bring benefit to all who rely on our student information systems,” said Jorge Mata, CIO at LACCD. “Our new solution is designed to support more self-service functionality and real-time access to data. It will enable more effective workflow, allowing us to be more responsive to the needs of our students, faculty and staff.”
The new system also will help the district meet the State of California’s rigorous student reporting requirements. “Ciber has a working relationship with 12 of the largest community college districts in California,” said Mike Dillon, Ciber vice president and Oracle practice leader. “We’ve modified PeopleSoft solutions to support regulatory reporting for many markets, including this state.
