The Centenary celebrations included a major international conference and exhibition hosted by the Sheffield Metallurgical and Engineering Association (SMEA) and the British Stainless Steel Association. More than 200 delegates attended the conference to listen to industry experts and key note speeches from Michael Fallon, Minister for Business and Enterprise, and the Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg. Outokumpu CEO Mika Seitovirta addressed an audience of over 300 guests at Sheffield University on the theme of “Status of Stainless Steel in the World Today”.
