ABAS Software AG, based in the German city of Karlsruhe, announced their merger with ABAS Projektierung Holding GmbH. By combining their experience in ERP software development, sales and implementation under the umbrella of ABAS Software AG, both companies seek to improve support for abas users and abas software partners around the world.
"We want to boost our project operations in order to increase recognition as the provider with the best ERP implementations for international small and midsize companies. For this we were able to gain ABAS Projektierung as our partner," explains abas co-founder Werner Strub (pictured left).
Trend towards process optimization
"With the additional focus on support and implementation, we expect to be able to achieve faster growth, without having to lose consistency in management," says Werner Strub. "By merging, we intend to contribute our experience and expertise in direct sales and software implementation and introduce the software to the market as an implementation partner with great expertise," explains Ursula Bracke, president of ABAS Projektierung (pictured right). The company also expects to be able to offer implementations at lower costs, thanks to increased standardization and abas GIM, a proven implementation method.
"In our projects, we are currently seeing a shift from custom software implementation to process optimization in the user company," says Bracke. A matching expansion of the service portfolio is intended to help users develop potential in this area. The partner network will particularly benefit from this reorganization, which will focus on expanding the network and providing greater support for prevalent industry-specific processes.
Expanded Board of Directors
The future Board of Directors will initially consist of five persons: abas co-founder and current CEO Werner Strub, who will be responsible for finances; the two presidents of ABAS Projektierung Holding GmbH, Michael Baier and Ursula Bracke, who will run project operations and human resources; former CTO Jürgen Nöding, who will continue to direct the software development department; and CSO Mario Raatz, who will remain the director of marketing and sales. COO Peter Forscht will step down from the Board of Directors in order to focus on developing, supporting and further expanding the international software partner network. The Supervisory Board will also be augmented. Furthermore, an Advisory Board will be established to coordinate the activities of the partner network in order to avoid conflicts of interests that may arise as a result of the merger.
