JOGO BEACH launches its 2014 collection this summer which includes one-piece swimsuits, bikinis and cover-ups inspired by the beautiful beaches of Rio and its surrounding favela’s representing a diverse mix of colors and natural beauty.
Founder and designer Pooneh Mohazzabi has lived and traveled around the world extensively, eventually settling in the Hamptons, Bali and Rio de Janeiro.
The swim collection’s bold palette is balanced through clean, sporty silhouettes, some of which feature cut-outs, mesh accents and metal hardware. Many offer removable straps. A dozen styles range from one pieces, to bikini tops including bandeau, adjustable triangle and halter, to full, European and Brazilian bottoms.
Comfort is especially important to Pooneh, who has an advantage through years of listening to customer feedback at her multibrand specialty store. JOGO By Pooneh is a lifestyle and flagship store for JOGO BEACH and also carries other upscale brands such as Carlos Miele, along with beauty products, accessories, music and specialty books.
“Flattering, sexy swimwear doesn’t have to be uncomfortable. We cut and shape suits to frame women’s bodies and highlight their best assets,” says Pooneh, who takes the task of selecting the right suit seriously. “I know I’m doing a good job when customers return year after year because they feel sexy and comfortable in their swimsuits.”
The collection, which retails from $195 to $400, is available at JOGO by Pooneh boutique, the JOGO BEACH website, and other retailers across US, Europe and in Abu Dhabi starting this summer. JOGO BEACH was presented at the Mercedes Benz Miami Swim show and has been featured in US, Fitness, Sports Illustrated, Beachwear on Stage, Daily Candy, Stylelist and Fashion Week, among other media outlets. Stage magazine and several other magazines have listed the brand as one of its top swim picks.
