Christian Copyright Solutions (CCS) is excited to announce the launch of a new free report, Six Myths About Copyrights That Put Your Church at Risk, available online, as well as an opportunity to win an iPad Mini. Both are available by visiting the Christian Copyright Solutions website.
In the Six Myths report, CCS addresses common myths and misunderstandings about church copyright compliance, including those that pertain to playing secular music during church worship services, broadcasting church performances, and playing music outside the regular service.
One of the biggest misconceptions about copyright compliance and coverage is that most churches do not believe they perform music outside the regular service and therefore do not need a performance music license. The report lists typical events and activities where most churches do perform music such as picnics, camps, vacation Bible school, and movie nights and should, therefore, have a performance license.
CCS believes as many as 300,000 churches in the United States do not have performance music licenses, are not copyright compliant, and do not, therefore, possess adequate legal protection when it comes to performance licensing.
