Modeled after Pinterest, The Churchyard allows users to ‘pin’ content to boards they create and allows users to create and manage collections of photos, videos, websites, etc. Users can browse other boards for content,'re-pin' images to their own boards, or 'like' other users content. It connects users based on shared interests and allows users to ‘follow’ other users.
Jamey Foster, founder of The Churchyard, created the site to provide individual and corporate ministries a platform to showcase themselves.
“I want The Churchyard to become the largest online source for easily accessible Christian content to help ministries and faith-based organizations create followings and links by uploading original content,” said Foster. “We are at ground level but we’ve just had 300 users subscribe in one week."

The Churchyard has gone through two BETAs in its evolution from a faith-based social networking site to being a user-driver content provider. Foster reasons that as the internet become more social, content is becoming heavily one-sided toward photos and videos. One of Foster’s future goals for the site is to allow users to stream live through a ‘Board’.
“One of the leading pornographic sites was built using the Pinterest model and has exploded new pornographic content to millions of users,” said Foster. “So The Churchyard's purpose is to do the same thing with Christian content.”
