UHY Advisors’ eDiscovery and Digital Forensics Practice Group today announced that Eric Shirk, a seasoned technologist with multiple certifications in computer forensics and a decade of experience in information technology, has been promoted to managing director.
In this new role, Shirk will plan, scope, execute and complete digital forensic and eDiscovery engagements leveraging his expertise in government investigation, health care litigation and energy-related matters. He will also oversee the company’s Houston-based digital forensics and eDiscovery analyst teams.
Shirk, who joined UHY Advisors in 2006, has considerable knowledge regarding best practices for data preservation, collection, processing, review and production. He has successfully spearheaded computer forensic services in support of complex litigation as well as government-initiated internal investigations with consulting, reporting and testifying services. Throughout the past decade, he has led the development and maintenance of complex information management systems in areas including state and federal child support enforcement, 401K administration, securities transfer and property and casualty insurance.
Shirk holds a Bachelor of Science in computer information systems from Southwest Missouri State University and is a certified computer examiner (CCE) and an EnCase certified examiner (EnCE).
