Not at Decadence. After one taste of an experimental blend of roasted cocoa, owner operator, Barry Hancock was hooked. “I just knew it was perfect for the ice cream and some of the other treats I wanted to share with people.” Named for its delicious desserts and fun atmosphere, Decadence opened in July of 2012, making it the latest innovation in the café world that blends the coolness of a coffee shop with the unique culture of Utah County.
“Working hand in hand with another local company, Crio, we have developed the first commercially viable roasted cocoa espresso grind. And we use a state-of-the-art espresso machine to make the best coffee-free espresso on the planet.” touts Hancock.
Hancock and his growing number of disciples are quick to remind you that roasted cocoa espresso is neither coffee, nor hot chocolate. Not only do these roasted cocoa drinks have more taste-dimensions than traditional hot cocoa, but these drinks are packed with anti-oxidants and heart-healthy benefits. This low-cal alternative skips the negatives of coffee such as large amounts of addictive caffeine while still giving you an invigorating boost, as well as other health benefits.
