Gabriela Voiculescu, licensed aesthetician and owner of “Spa98” announces the opening of “Dressy Fancy,” an internet-based business showcasing her own unique line of individually designed and manufactured jewelry along with a variety of health and beauty products.
Gabriela, who has been featured on “Good Morning America,” is the epitome of the American dream. A formally trained aesthetician, she, her husband and daughter came to the United States in 1991 from their former home in communist Romania with little more than their names and educations.
“It was the most wonderful thing in our lives to step on this ground,” she said recently while discussing the launch of Dressy Fancy. “There (Romania) we were not allowed to think, to have imagination, to create. And we could never have started our own businesses. It would have been illegal.”
Since her arrival in the US, Gabriela has put her new found freedom to good use. She has founded and operated two successful health spas (“Spa98” in Miramar Beach and “Skincare by Gabriela” in the Atlanta area), created the line of “G Formula” skin care products and has even become a published author. Now, with the launch of Dressy Fancy (dressyfancy.com), she will be able to market her products on a global basis.
For Gabriela, work and business is more than just a vocation it is a family affair. Her mother and sister were practicing aestheticians in Bucharest. They were role models and her inspiration to go into the field. Likewise, now that she is living and successfully working in the US, she still says she draws her strength from family.
“For me, business means your life and the whole family has to help. Without my husband, my family, I could not have done this. Business means commitment and commitment must come from the family.”
