NewswireTODAY - /newswire/ - Dubai, UAE, United Arab Emirates, 2013/03/05 - Senior Emirati lawyer Shurooq Fareed Zainal, employed at Clyde & Co, recently hosted an opening reception for her inaugural photography exhibition "Empire of the Sun through a Rising Sun", which was showcased at One and Only, The Palm - eFikra.com.

Held under the patronage of His Excellency Daisuke Matsunaga, the Consul General of Japan in Dubai, who was also the guest of honor at the opening reception, the photographs that went on display were taken during Zainal’s last five trips to Japan.

The reception welcomed guests and delegates from leading Japanese trading houses/companies based in the UAE, as well as others, who share a similar interest in the art and culture of Japan.

Shurooq Zainal commented,“Photography has always been my hobby and this exhibition allows me to express my passion and share my experiences in Japan and its beautiful and unique culture through my lens”.

“This is my first ever solo exhibition in the UAE and I hope that through it I will be able to get both cultures/countries closer to each other whether business-wise or through promoting tourism. I am also hoping that this exhibition would be the start of a chain of annual exhibitions to follow here in the UAE and in Japan with the same theme or with a focus on life in the UAE”.

All the photos displayed at the exhibition were for sale and a percentage of the proceeds received will be donated to various cancer treatment hospitals of the buyers' choice.
