SMART Tools, a cloud-based employee talent assessment system, will participate in the upcoming LEHRN Expo at the Earle Brown Browne Conference Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota on March 7.
“SMART Tools is proud to be an active participant in the LEHRN community,” noted Mark Fournier, Senior Director of Sales & Marketing. “We look forward to joining some 55 other exhibitors at the best HR technology event this side of Human Resource Executive’s annual HR Tech Conference.”
SMART Tools was established after 10 years of software innovation at Benchmark Learning, a leader in business education, specializing in the development of technical, process, business and leadership skills. Its foundation began with the creation of multiple products, including organizational and individual assessment tools, as well as intuitive configuration interfaces. These homegrown technologies were originally built to service Benchmark Learning’s students, partners and internal operations, and have completed more than 500,000 assessments with over 1,000 clients.
The technology was recently spun off and housed under the SMART Tools umbrella in order to place a heightened focus on product improvement, cloud delivery, and client support. Scott MacDonald, Chief Operating Officer of SMART Tools, was the primary architect of Benchmark Learning’s suite of assessment and profiling tools. He believed the products had untapped potential that could be realized with an isolated focus.
SMART Tools reveals where skill proficiencies and gaps exist in an organization through a combination of subjective skill assessments, objective skill assessments and workforce surveys. Implementation of the technologies is most often driven by talent management, performance management, organizational development and learning departments.
While the market has many options for talent and learning management software, SMART Tools possesses some noticeably different qualities. Its nimble solutions allow for rapid implementation and are exceptionally more affordable than comparable products. Also, unlike competitors, SMART Tools utilizes predefined skill frameworks to prescribe actionable learning recommendations.
“We envision engaging client employees more directly in their own career development, in ways that benefit both the individuals and their employers,” Fournier said. “This commitment to aid an individual’s immediate and future professional advancement is why SMART Tools technology perfectly complements existing talent management technology and employee development options.”
