Miami, FL, United States, 2013/02/06 - Miami Yacht Club and Freedom Veterans of America Host "Welcome Home Veterans" gratitude event. From World War II Tuskegee airmen to Afghan hero's. Veterans from all eras will be honored and shown around their new facilities at the Miami Yacht Club.
Miami Yacht Club, today announced that it is now a premiere business development partner with Freedom Veterans of America, a 501C-3 not-for-profit. As part of this new relationship initiative, Miami Yacht Club will host the first of many “Welcome Home Veterans” events on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 5pm.
The first “Welcome Home Veterans” evening commences with a Gratitude Ceremony led by Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jose "Pepe" Diaz and Paul M. Russo, Director of the Miami VA Healthcare System. Both will be honoring 100 of South Florida's most deserving veterans for their dedication to our country.
Additionally, Director Russo will be presenting to his father, Pasquale A. Russo, the Certificate of Appreciation from Miami-Dade County for his service in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
The Gratitude Ceremony will be followed by a welcome orientation and tour of the expansive Miami Yacht Club facilities. Guests will be served from a hand picked selection of catered specialties from the Miami Yacht Club and the Freedom Veterans of America.
Freedom Veterans of America (FVA) provides fee-free services to veterans from reintegration to education, healthcare, housing, transportation and various levels of assistance. "We appreciate everything our veterans do to protect our freedoms. It will be wonderful to give back with these programs," said Fermin Jimenez, FVA CEO and founder.
Miami Yacht Club (MYC) is located at 1001 MacArthur Causeway on beautiful Watson Island between the City of Miami and Miami Beach. For over 80 years, MYC has been working with the community to engage not only members, also children, teenagers and adults through education, outreach and superior event hosting.

Freedom Veterans of America (FreedomVeteransofAmerica.org) was established April 2010 to help veterans transition and reintegrate into their communities as seamlessly as possible with care, direction and support. FVA offers services that other veterans’ outreach programs do not.
