The 2013 Miami Art Deco Festival was held on Ocean Drive in the heart of South Beach, Miami Florida from January 18th through the 20th. The Festival consisted of multiple fashion shows, live music, galas and an extravagant parade to cap it all off. Miami Art Deco Festival has been a South Beach tradition since 1976 in order to raise awareness of the historic Art Deco culture, buildings and artwork. The Miami Design Preservation League started the festival and carries on its tradition today, with nearly 300,000 visitors each year. Soul Premium Cachaça was a major sponsor for the entire weekend, hosting a private VIP Guest Lounge in Lummus Park and private 1920’s inspired Gala.
The VIP’s were treated like celebrities, first posing to smile on the red carpet with an authentic Brazilian samba dancer in full Carnival attire and bottles of Soul. Then guests were able to relax and enjoy custom Soul Cachaça caipirinhas in an elegant lounge setting. Caipirinhas are the national drink of Brazil, consisting of fresh fruit, typically limes, muddled with sugar and served with cachaça on ice. VIP’s had a variety of caipirinhas to choose from including traditional lime, fresh pineapple and strawberry. As the days turned to nights the VIP tent was illuminated with “Soul” green lighting and furniture.
Soul Premium Cachaça also hosted the authentic 1920’s Speakeasy Private Gala on Saturday January 19th at a secret underground location. Guests were led into the underground “speakeasy” where they enjoyed 1920’s Soul cocktails like the Soul Daddy and Soul Sidecar. Following the Gala an enormous parade made their way down the famous Ocean Drive in the heart of the Art Deco District. With classic cars carrying important political and social figures down the route, even the Mayor of Miami Beach, Mrs. Matti Herrera Bower, had a moment to smile with Soul Cachaça.
