FOCUS Bicycles will be well-represented this coming weekend in Louisville, KY at the UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships. Team Rapha-FOCUS riders from the USA, Switzerland and the United Kingdom will compete aboard the FOCUS Mares CX 1.0 Rapha-FOCUS in the U23, Elite Women and Elite women’s races while New Zealand and the Czech Republic will also field riders aboard FOCUS.
Hot off an astounding silver medal in the Elite USA National Championships, 21 year-old phenom Zach McDonald will contest the Men’s U23 event on Saturday where he will face fellow FOCUS rider and solid medal contender Vojtech Nipl of the Czech Republic. Sunday will see two Team Rapha-FOCUS members compete in the Elite Women’s race, as Jasmin Achermann represents Switzerland and Gabriella Day flies the flag for the United Kingdom. Finally, the weekend will culminate with the Elite Men World Championships, featuring FOCUS riders Alexander Revell from New Zealand and home country hero Jeremy Powers. Powers comes off a solid 3rd at last weekend’s warmup race in Cincinnati and will be seeking redemption from a rare off day at USA Nationals as he looks for his 15th win of the 2012/13 season.
All Team Rapha-FOCUS riders are on the FOCUS Mares CX 1.0 Rapha-FOCUS, available for the first time this year to the public for $6440. The Mares CX 1.0 features a full carbon frame with BB30 bottom bracket for ultimate power transfer and low weight, a tapered head tube, and the Mares “Bulldog” fork for stable handling and powerful braking.
