LifeSize, a division of Logitech, today announced the expansion of its rich video collaboration offerings through qualified interoperability with Microsoft® Lync®. LifeSize® Team 220™ is one of the first H.264 room-based video endpoints qualified by Microsoft in the Lync Video Interoperability program.
LifeSize established its commitment to Microsoft unified communications (“UC”) solutions with a series of announcements over the past year. In early 2011, LifeSize became a member of the Microsoft Lync Video Interoperability program and announced qualification of its full suite of video conferencing endpoints to interoperate with Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007.
“The way to make video communications truly ubiquitous is to make the experience as seamless and intuitive as possible,” said Michael Helmbrecht, vice president and general manager of video solutions at LifeSize. “Microsoft Lync is helping to propel unified communications to wider adoption and put video collaboration into the hands of every knowledge worker. By fostering a strong collaboration with Microsoft through the qualification process and our joint efforts with the Unified Communication Interoperability Forum (UCIF), we believe we are taking the next step, together, towards true unified communications for anyone, anywhere.”
Earlier this year LifeSize introduced LifeSize UVC Video Engine for Microsoft Lync, an RTVideo transcoding solution that works together with LifeSize® 220™ Series, LifeSize® Unity™ Series and LifeSize® Passport™ to deliver a high quality, flexible and cost-effective solution for continuous-presence HD video calls with Microsoft Lync.
"Microsoft is delighted to see the progress LifeSize has made to broaden the breadth of its solutions to interoperate with Lync over the past year,” said Giovanni Mezgec, general manager for Lync at Microsoft “From LifeSize’s participation in the Microsoft Lync Video Interoperability program, to developing the LifeSize UVC Video Engine for Microsoft Lync, LifeSize continues to innovate and enhance the video experience for its customers.”
