The fifth semi-annual HORIZONS conference was held at the Sand Pearl Resort in Clearwater, Florida, October 31 to November 2. The event drew a record number of attendees with a 40% increase over the previous event. A leading conference in the information management space, customers, partners, prospects and iDatix staff members gathered to discuss best practices, exchange ideas and network with industry leaders.
The event gathered individuals from a wide range of industries, from Manufacturing to Financial Services to Non-Profits. The unique ideas provided from this diverse group, combined with the expert knowledge delivered by the iDatix staff and industry insights from leading professionals, created an enlightening and educational conference. Sessions ranged from “Eliminating Paper through Form Based Workflows” to a success story delivered first-hand from Goodwill Industries. Speakers included Forrester Analyst Alan Weintraub, representatives from Goodwill Industries and Lockheed Martin.
One of the most popular sessions was the keynote address delivered by Weintraub. In the revealing presentation, he overviewed the convergence of business process management, dynamic case management and enterprise content management.
AgFirst Farm Credit Bank provided an insightful look into how their technology investment transformed their organization. The presentation overviewed AgFirst’s critical technology requirements and why previous solutions did not meet their needs, their phased approach for over 2,500 users and the pitfalls to avoid for a successful implementation.
“We knew that iDatix had the technology base that we wanted,” stated Chris Mott of AgFirst Farm Credit.
Shanna DuLong, Process Improvement Consultant, overviewed the steps to ensure you are best leveraging your technology investment. Through the riveting story of the Lockheed Martin implementation, Shanna DuLong details how manufacturing organizations can utilize document management and workflow automation to better manage their production, QA, procurement and accounts payable operations.
“Information is captured, indexed, cross-referenced, stored and presented to each worker based on the immediate needs of the job function,” explains Shanna DuLong.
In their presentation, Goodwill Industries detailed the motivation behind their iSynergy investment and the benefits realized at their organization after implementation. The initial catalyst began in the Human Resources department but quickly spread as they experienced the productivity gains of the solution.
Goodwill states that their organization achieved a,“25% reduction in hiring managers’ time spent on personnel action forms and 70% reduction in interdepartmental phone calls and inquires generated from personnel action forms,” with iSynergy.
With very positive feedback from all the attendees, this year’s event was a success; the next conference will be held in the spring of 2014. iDatix staff expect HORIZONS 2014 to be an even greater success.
