Magnolia International, creator of the open source Magnolia content management system (CMS), has appointed Dominik Steinacher as the company’s new head of sales and partner management. Tasked with expanding Magnolia’s global network of certified systems integrators and enterprise web development agencies, Steinacher, a former Swiss national pole-vaulting champion, will play a key role in taking the company to new heights.
Before joining Magnolia, Steinacher worked as chief operations officer at the 4uGroup, a Swiss service company within the IT and Internet industries. Prior to this, he worked for seven years in product development and marketing within the financial sector. In addition, Steinacher has extensive experience in business development and sales strategy, key account management, investor relations and corporate communications.
“Dominik is defining a new role for himself within Magnolia’s rapidly expanding team. He is taking on vital tasks around managing and expanding the partner network which is at the heart of Magnolia’s open source business model,” comments Boris Kraft, CTO and co-founder of Magnolia. “We will continue to work on all customer implementations through our partners. As a result, the company is at a stage where we need new partners in order to fulfil current demand. Dominik’s role is central to Magnolia’s future growth.”
Magnolia’s growing reputation and its open source offering has generated significant new business opportunities for the company in North and South America, the Middle East, Asia and Australia. With the company also in the process of developing new premises in Miami, Florida, a central part of Steinacher’s new role will be to build relationships with enterprise-class partners in these new markets.
“In contrast to many partner management roles where companies need to find partners in order to generate business in new markets, I am now in the great position of selecting and training partners that we can put straight into viable tender opportunities,” explains Steinacher. “This does come with a large responsibility. As an open source organisation, our choice of new partners will form a core part of Magnolia’s identity and the company’s reputation in our most significant global markets.”
