Prague, Czech Republic, 2012/11/13 - The International School of Prague, together with Google in Education announce the second annual ‘European Google Apps for Education Summit’ and the first annual ‘European Google Geo Summit’ - PragueSummit.org.
The Google Apps for Education Summit is based on the successful ‘Google in Education’ format and is focused on helping educators get the most out of Google Apps for Education in both ‘primary/secondary schools’ and ‘Higher Education’ environments. There will be sessions lead by some of the world’s leading Google apps experts including Google staff and Google Certified Teachers and trainers, and Chromebooks on hand to demo.
There will be ‘break-out’ sessions for both teachers/lecturers, school administrators and school IT managers and the aim of the summit is for attendees to leave with knowledge that they can take away to their school and colleges and start using straight away.
New for 2013 will be two specific summit strands; A ‘Google Apps Certification’ strand for attendees looking to become Google Apps EDU Certified trainers, and a ‘Chromebooks in Education’ strand for educators looking to leverage Chromebooks in their schools and classrooms.
In addition the school announced the first annual European Google GEO Summit, to be held at the International School of Prague on June 1th and 2nd 2013. This two day event will feature members of the Google GEO outreach team from the US leading in depth group exercises on both Google Maps and Google Earth, followed by ‘break-out’ sessions from leading Google GEO experts on day 2.
Conference coordinator Dan Taylor commented “The 2012 summit was an amazing experience, we had attendees from most of the major International Schools in Europe, together with participants from state and private schools from many countries, including the UK, Scandinavia and the US. We also had some great ‘Higher Education’ representation from the Open University and others. With our two summits in 2013 we want to become one of the main features of worldwide Google in Education events”
